Month 5- October 2013
Well this month went by very quickly and boy was it exciting! I spent the first week at our Florida Region meeting with all of our Profit Center managers, important vendors, and my fellow management trainees from Florida. Our region manager, Rod Rauch, used this meeting to get our managers focused and prepped for the upcoming forecast reviews. Forecast reviews give our Profit Center managers the opportunity to sit down one on one with our company’s president and vice president to discuss the previous year’s performance and their goals for the upcoming year.
After the region meeting, I was heading off to Philadelphia for the management trainee seminar. This was my first opportunity to meet all of the MDPs from across the nation; what an interesting mix of personalities! We had such an awesome time together and now I have more people to learn from and bounce ideas off of. The second day of the seminar was filled with MDP business project presentations and I took away a lot of useful information from each presenter. My project presentation went really well and it was rewarding to know that my hard work paid off.
The seminar primarily was focused on teaching us about different aspects of the company. Personally, I learned a great deal about my leadership style and how I can make a bigger impact on my profit center. We had the opportunity to talk with our President, Rick Fantham, one on one in a roundtable setting and ask him about any aspect of our company (what a brave man!). It was truly incredible to know that the president of our company hears us and cares about our concerns. I don’t think that happens too often in other companies. Another great month ahead of me…stay tuned 🙂
