Getting ready for the SHOWroom
I’ve been in Wenatchee and a part of the MDP Program for about three months now and I am still really enjoying it and learning a lot! A few weeks ago I started the Counter Phase of my training and it has been a great transition. Getting to interact with the customers and learning the nuances of Eclipse has been really beneficial. While I enjoyed the warehouse phase, I know I’m going to enjoy this phase even more!
Here at Inland Pipe and Supply in Wenatchee we have a lot going on. We are currently looking to hire two new team members. I’ve got to learn how the recruiting process works and how important it is to find members of your “Dream Team.” Each time we find a new prospective employee, our PCM interviews him or her, and then the rest of the team interviews them again as a group. When you have a team as small as ours I think this is a great way to make sure any candidate is going to fit in with the goals, personalities and work styles of the existing team members.
Right now we are also in the process of remodeling and reopening our showroom. It’s pretty close to being finished, we are just waiting on some additional product and for the bathroom to be finished. Everything looks great so far and we have a really good plan as to how we want the showroom appointment process to work, so that we can maximize the experience for our Plumbing Contractors and their customers. Getting the showroom up and running is an exciting opportunity for our PC to grow our business.
The weather has stayed pretty nice here in the area and it has allowed me to explore a little more and play some more golf. I really like the Wenatchee area and am enjoying learning all that I can about our business!
