April 2014

INVENTORY MONTH! It would be easy to complain about inventory, as it is labor intensive and tedious, however I will refrain from doing so. There are a lot of good things about inventory as well so I will focus on those. First, I get to travel for a lot of inventories, and you all know how much I love traveling so that is a good thing right off the bat. I am going to South Carolina in a couple of months for one there. Second, people from other profit centers come in to help, and I love meeting new people or getting to see people I have already met again. Third, lunch is provided and I am a total foodie so anytime food is involved is good for me. Finally, and most importantly, it is necessary to do inventory to make sure that our stock levels are correct so that we can give accurate information to the customers when they call to ask about product availability and for other accounting reasons which I personally find interesting, but I will spare you the details. Also I should note how nice it is to inventory in April thanks to the mild weather (June in South Carolina may not be so nice).

For our inventory, we had William (one of the trainees in South Carolina) come to help as well as a couple of other profit center managers from the area. Every time I see another trainee at any event I say “We have to take a picture together for the blog.” But as you can tell, we always forget and I should never go into the field of photography because I miss all of the good photo ops. In any case, it was nice catching up with everyone from the other locations at inventory and over dinner.

I was wearing a Hajoca t-shirt over the weekend when I was out of town with family and a lady stopped me and asked me where I got it. I told her I worked for Hajoca and she said, “So does my husband!” It is such a small world because he works at one of the profit centers in North Carolina I have visited a couple of times and I actually knew him. She was out of town on work and I was out of town with family and we happened to be in the same town and just happened to run into each other. She was very sweet and I enjoyed meeting her. Small world!
