December 2013
I cannot believe it is almost 2014! At the end of the year, I always think about everything that has changed in the past year, as I would guess most people do. Zora Neale Hurston said, “There are years that ask questions, and years that answer.” This was a year that answered. A lot of big things happened for me in 2013.
2012 was a very stagnant year in my life. I was working at a job that I hated, living in a place I didn’t care for, driving a car that was well past its prime, and wondering where my life was going to take me. I knew something had to change so I started looking for a new job, and it turned out to be so much bigger and better than I imagined. I have gotten to travel so much this year, moved to a new apartment in a new town, bought a new car, and met lots of new people. In the past two months, I have been to Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and Indiana. Some of that was personal travel, but some of those places I never would have gone had it not been for work. It’s funny to think that before March I knew nothing about Hajoca and by the end of the year, my whole life has completely changed (for the better!).
I think 2014 is going to be a great year as well. I have personal trips planned to Las Vegas and Florida, as well as work trips to Louisiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Plus, I will move into Phase 2 of the program in September and will be moving to a new city again! I can’t wait to see what and who the next year has to bring!
